Wilmette is one of the most established North Shore communities we work in. The housing stock is varied — from historic Frank Lloyd Wright-era homes near the lake to mid-century ranches in the central village to newer construction in the southwest blocks. Each style brings its own bathroom expectations, and we tailor our work to fit the home.
Most Wilmette homeowners we work with are looking for one of two things. The first is a primary bathroom upgrade — turning a tired 1980s or 1990s master bath into a true spa-style space with a walk-in shower, a freestanding tub, and a double vanity. The second is a hall or guest bathroom refresh that brings dated finishes up to current standards while keeping the existing footprint and plumbing.
Wilmette is a village with strong community standards and a thoughtful permit process. We pull permits through the Village of Wilmette and coordinate inspections at every required milestone — rough plumbing, rough electrical, framing, insulation, and final. Our crews are familiar with the local building department's expectations, the contractor parking rules, and the noise ordinances.
A typical Wilmette bathroom renovation includes:
We treat every Wilmette bathroom remodel as a full project — not just the work inside the room. That means careful protection of original hardwood floors and stair treads, daily cleanup, and clear communication about when crews will be on site. Most full bathroom renovations take five to seven weeks from demolition to final walk-through. Smaller refreshes can be done in three weeks.
Pricing for a Wilmette bathroom remodel typically ranges from $30,000 for a guest-bath refresh to $80,000+ for a full primary suite renovation with custom tile work, premium fixtures, and a soaking tub. Every estimate is line-item itemized with material allowances and a real timeline so you can plan around the work.
We work alongside our clients' architects and designers when there is one, or we can recommend trusted local design partners when there isn't. Either way, we handle the construction side end-to-end so you have one point of contact for the whole project.
If you are a Wilmette homeowner thinking about a bathroom renovation, we would love to come out for a free in-home consultation. There is no pressure and no sales pitch — just an honest conversation about your space, your timeline, and what is realistic for your budget.
Recently Completed
Last fall we completed a primary bathroom renovation in a 1960s split-level on Lake Avenue in Wilmette. The owners had been living with a closed-off, low-ceilinged bathroom that had not been touched since the home was built.
We removed the original tub-shower combo, opened up the soffit to gain ceiling height, and reconfigured the layout to fit a 60-inch curbless walk-in shower with frameless glass and a built-in bench. The double vanity is rift-cut white oak with quartz counters and undermount sinks. We added a skylight above the shower for natural light, installed heated porcelain floor tile, and ran a dedicated 20-amp circuit for the heated towel bar.
The full project took six weeks including Village of Wilmette permit review and inspections. The owners told us it has completely changed the way their morning routine feels.
For more than a decade we have been the trusted bathroom remodeling contractor for Wilmette families. Every project is run by a single project manager who answers the phone, shows up on schedule, and keeps the work site spotless.

Very much so. A lot of what we do involves stately colonials, Tudor revivals, and updated mid-century homes, and we know how to integrate modern systems and finishes into older construction without losing what makes the home special.
